Are account migrations possible?

Account migrations are transferring your websites that are being hosted on a specific server to a different server of ours. With that being said, yes, we can do that. Let’s say that you’ve mistakenly purchased hosting in Australia instead of the United Kingdom – we’ll make sure to transfer all of your content over to the desired server.

How to request an account migration?

Reaching out to us via our ticket system (support@wpx.net) or our live chat would be sufficient for us to initiate the migration.

Please keep reading below for more information regarding account migrations.

Things that you should keep in mind

It’s impossible to have a single hosting plan with different sites resolving through different data centers (Chicago, London, and Sydney). If you want to have specific sites loading through our UK server and others loading through our US, you’ll need to purchase an additional plan.

You can have an unlimited amount of hosting plans under a single WPX account, however, the sites in a specific plan will always load from the data center location you’ve purchased from.

Yes, our XDN will greatly reduce the loading time all over the world but the origin server where the files are stored remains the one you’ve selected during your hosting purchase (unless an account migration is requested).

Another thing to remember is to not make any changes during the migration process as these changes will most likely be lost.

A re-migration of website/s due to changes made during migration will be considered a paid service. More about that can be found in our Migration Policy.

If some of your sites are working on lower PHP versions (e.g. 5.6 which we still support on our first servers), they may require some updates to start functioning correctly on our newest servers that are supporting PHP versions above 7.0.

If you have any other questions on the topic, please get in touch with WPX Support Team via live chat (use the bottom right-hand widget) and they will respond and help within 30 seconds or less.
