How can I check my error/access logs?

In WPX we keep two types of logs – Error logs and Access logs. Both types of logs can be checked from your WPX control panel.

What types of entries are stored in your site’s logs?

Access entries in the Access log
You can use the access log to view the traffic and the types of requests made to your website. You can monitor from where the traffic is coming from by IP addresses and for example target specific countries in your next campaign.
ModSecurity entries in the Error log
Various error logs indicate different blocks that are implemented to your website from external bad reputation requests or malicious bots. They can be ignored since they are strictly being logged for protection and to track the activity of these malicious requests/bots.
PHP Warning entries in the Error log
Warnings that are being sent from your websites regarding errors that have happened but are fixed or are connected to the functionality of third-party plugins/themes. They can be ignored since they do not affect your website in any way and are not fatal.

How long do we keep the logs?

Here at WPX, we store both Access and Error logs for up to 30 days from the date of request. The Error and Access Logs you see in your WPX account are the last marked ones.

If you wish to preview logs that date back further in time, for example, two weeks ago, you can contact our support, so that they can provide them.

Let’s move on to checking the logs from the WPX control panel.

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account

You can log in to your WPX account here.

Step 2. Navigate to your hosting plan

You can either find your hosting service through the navigation menu or within your dashboard. Once you log in to your WPX account select My Services (1) → WordPress Hosting (2).

Then you will see all of your hosting services with us. When you find the plan that you want to manage, you need to select the orange button Manage service.

Step 3. Check the Logs menu

Now that you’re in the Hosting Panel, select the Manage Websites (1) menu. In this section, you can oversee, manage, and add new websites to your WPX account.

To check the logs of your website, select Logs (2) → Access or Error logs (3), depending on what you want to check for that particular website.

That’s it! You can now monitor the logs of your website from your WPX control panel.

If you get stuck with anything discussed on this page, please contact WPX Support via live chat (use the bottom right-hand widget) and they will respond and help within 30 seconds or less.
