How can I connect my WPX Email Account with Outlook?

In this tutorial, we will provide you with a step-by-step guide to configuring your WPX Email account to work with the Outlook mail client. If you don’t have an email account with us check our article in the knowledge base first.

Step 1. Log in to your WPX account.

You can log in to your WPX account here.

Step 2. Email settings.

If you already know where your email settings are located, you can skip this step.

You can find the email settings in your emails sent from WPX here. Look for the email subject that includes the email box you want to set up.

For example, the settings for support@wpxexample.net are in the following email:

You can find the Mail server settings in the E-mail Boxes menu.

Some mailboxes use a different email username from the email address depending on the server that you are hosted on. If the email username is different from your email address, you need to use that username to connect your email address with any mail client.

Step 3. Open Outlook on your device.

With your account settings ready, there are a few very important steps to take – instead of starting Outlook by the icon on your desktop, click the Windows Start Button and type Outlook.

After starting the Outlook app, you need to enter the mailbox address you’re trying to connect to (in our case that’s test@mail.wpxexample.com):

Please make sure to select the IMAP option before we proceed to the next step with filling in the required details. On some rare occasions people may need the POP option, please go for it if that’s what you’re looking for.

Step 4. Fill in the Email account details.

A new window will appear on your screen where you need to fill in the email details from Step 2.

Add the following information:

  • Incoming/Outgoing Servers (may vary depending on the server your websites are hosted at);
  • Incoming/Outgoing ports – always 993 and 465 (in the same order as shown in the screenshot);
  • Encryption Method – always SSL/TLS for both incoming and outgoing servers.

After that, you need to fill in the password that you’ve set during the mailbox setup.

The next thing you’ll see is a confirmation pop-up that the account has been added, proceed with the Done button.

That’s it! If the information that you filled in is correct, your email should be connected to Outlook.

If you have a username instead of email:

As a workaround, you can add the mailbox to your Outlook mail client manually by following these steps:

You should now be able to see Outlook’s mail client interface which you are probably familiar with.

You should start by typing “Control Panel” in your Start Menu. Once there search “Mail”:

Then you should click on “Mail (Microsoft Outlook)” -> “Show Profiles”:

Click on the “Add” button:

On the Profile Name field you can simply type the Username -> Manual setup or additional server types -> Pop or IMAP -> There you should put the configurations:

Once placed the mail client will first test the connection and if it’s connected correctly you will find the mailbox added to your Outlook mail client.

If you get stuck with anything discussed on this page, please get in touch with the WPX Support Team via live chat (use the bottom right-hand widget) and they will respond and help within 30 seconds or less.
