How to integrate WPX XDN with NitroPack for automatic cache clearing if using a proxy?

If your website utilizes the NitroPack plugin, this step-by-step guide will walk you through connecting WPX XDN to enable automatically synchronized cache clearing seamlessly while using proxy IP addresses. Once configured, clearing the NitroPack cache will trigger a process to automatically clear WPX XDN’s cache as well.

NitroPack utilizes a DNS-based solution to monitor the host of your website. If the website does not point directly to WPX’s IPs (if the site uses Cloudflare’s proxy for example), you need to configure an integration with Cloudflare as well.

If your website is not using a proxy and is directly connected to the XDN’s Cloud IP addresses, you will not need to go through this setup, as the cache will be cleared automatically.

To achieve this configuration, follow these steps in the NitroPack Dashboard.

Step 1. Log in to your NitroPack Dashboard.

You can log in via the following link: https://app.nitropack.io.

Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Integrations’ section in the menu.

Once you are logged in to your NitroPack account, open the ‘Integrations’ menu.

Step 3 . Connect your Cloudflare API to Nitropack. (optional)

If your website uses Cloudflare, you need to integrate it as well for the process to work as intended. Click on ‘View Settings’ within the Cloudflare widget to access a field where you can enter your Cloudflare API token. This will connect NitroPack with Cloudflare. You can follow one of their guides on how to achieve the connection between the two services.

Step 4. Set up the Reverse proxy.

After setting the Cloudflare API token, return to the ‘Integrations’ menu and access the settings for ‘Reverse Proxy (Varnish, NGINX, etc.)’ by clicking on ‘View Settings.’ In the ‘Account Settings’ fields, enter the following details to connect to the WPX XDN:

  • URL for performing a complete purge – Enter your full site URL; replace ‘domain’ with your actual site name, for example, https://www.wpx.net, and add ‘/.*’ at the end of the URL – https://www.[domain]/.*
  • HTTP method when purging a single URL – Set this to ‘PURGE’.
  • HTTP method when purging the entire reverse proxy cache – Set this to ‘PURGE’ as well.
  • List of IPs of reverse proxy servers – Add the following IP address: 127.0.0.1:6081

Step 5. Confirm the connection is successful.

After saving the changes, both integrations should have the status ‘Connected’

That’s it! You have successfully connected the WPX XDN to NitroPack and Cloudflare.
