Is site migration to WPX Free & is Email included?

Yes, the migration to WPX is completely free, provided you meet our Site Migration Policy. Website Migration is normally completed within 24 hours, once we have all the information from you that we need. However, every website migrated to WPX is scanned for malicious code. If we find any malware, the Security team of WPX will clean the website for free, which may extend the time window for migration completion from 24h up to 72h.

Your WPX hosting service includes Email for free however, we highly recommend separating your email to a service like Google Workspace or Zoho for enhanced performance; our main focus is on high-performance WordPress hosting.

If you choose to use our Email service, we will need to know exactly what your previous hosting account’s current email setup is, (be it Google Apps/GMail, Mozilla Thunderbird, or MS Outlook) to smoothly transition your preferred form of email management.

Having this information allows us to help you make a fast, painless transition over to WPX Hosting. You can check how to start the migration of your sites here.

When is Site Migration not free?

Regardless of the number or size of the sites, you need to be moved, website migration to WPX is free.

Migration with a domain name change

If your current established site is tomjones.com and you want to create a brand new domain and site on tomjonesblog.com, with the content from tomjones.com (or a subdomain/subfolder). Such a migration is extremely time-consuming given the massive amount of database editing sometimes required for changing URLs. We can migrate websites to a new domain name but this is paid service and costs $98 excluding VAT.

Also, remember that migrations from one domain to another are not 100% guaranteed due to encoded URLs in the database. If this turns out to be the case, we will refund you the amount paid for that migration.

Re-migration of a site

Re-migration of a website that has already been migrated to us for the past 365 days (migration of the same website), WPX charges $98 per site.

Express migration

Express Migration is the option that allows you to skip the migration queue, and our Migration Experts will complete your migration request as soon as possible – instead of the standard 24 hours.

This option has been created for new WPX customers who need an emergency exit from their current host. If you have selected the Express Migration service, as per our Terms of Service, this is considered a paid service, and the cost of an Express Migration is US$100 (VAT Excl.).

Site migrations are carried out 7 days a week and can normally be completed within 24 hours.

What about WP Multisite migrations?

If you are moving an existing Multisite installation from another hosting company to WPX as a Multisite installation here, then that IS a free migration that we DO handle for you.

However, if you are moving a normal, single WP installation from another hosting company to WPX as a Multisite installation here, we do NOT offer that service, either as a free or a paid migration, and such a migration is NOT recommended – it is likely to be highly problematic and NOT currently supported here, sorry.

What about Email migrations?

Our free migration service DOES include your emails from your old host BUT if you are using a 3rd party email provider like Zoho or Google Apps, you need to point that out in the migration request.

If you have not provided us with the correct 3rd party email records, we cannot add those during the migration process.
