As you know, WordPress Updates are very important when it comes to the site’s safety and functionality. It’s important to regularly update WordPress installations like core, themes, and plugins, which will keep you safe as well, while you have the newest features, better compatibility, and a smooth WordPress experience.
That’s why in this article we will explain, how you can manage the WordPress Updates for your website through our WPX Hosting Panel quickly and easily without having to log into your website.
Managing WordPress Updates through your Hosting Panel can be done fast and easily in a few steps.
Step 1. Log in to your WPX account
You can log in to your WPX account here.
Step 2. Navigate to your hosting plan
You can either find your hosting service through the navigation menu or within your dashboard. Once you log in to your WPX account select My Services (1) → WordPress Hosting (2).
Then you will see all of your hosting services with us. You need to select the orange button Manage service on the service where your website is located. The one that you’re going to manage the WordPress Updates for.
Step 3. Go to the Manage Websites menu
Now that you’re in the Hosting Panel, select the Manage Websites (1) menu. In this section, you can oversee, manage, and add new websites to your WPX account. To manage the WordPress Updates on one of your websites, click on the Manage WP (2) button on the right side of the website.
Step 4. Enable/Disable auto-update
Once you have clicked on the Manage WP button, a pop-up window will appear on your screen. You will be able to choose between:
- Plugins Update
- Themes Update
- Core Update
Plugins Update
By selecting the Plugins Update tab, you will have the opportunity to choose between Enable or Disable the Auto-update. Please keep in mind that, if you choose to enable Auto-update for your plugins, we will apply all available updates for your plugins once a day.
Themes Update
The Themes Update tab provides you with the option to choose between Enable or Disable the Auto-update for your themes. Please keep in mind that, if you choose to enable Auto-update, we will apply all available updates for your themes once a day.
Core Update
When you click on the Core Update tab, you can choose between Enable or Disable the Auto-update for your WordPress Core. If you choose to enable Auto-update, we will apply all available updates for your core updates once a day.
Also while you’re on the Core Update tab you will be able to choose the update type:
- Minor core release updates (e.g updating from 5.9.2 to 5.9.3)
- Major core release updates (updating from a previous version of WordPress to an entirely new one, eg. going from 4.9.19 to 5.0).
