What is a VAT number?

If you are a customer from the European Union (EU) or the UK, you are automatically charged with Value Added Tax (VAT). This means that, along with your monthly hosting payments, you must pay a tax of approximately 20% of your invoice.

VAT may vary between different EU countries. VAT usually ranges between 18% and 27%.

Where can I check the VAT percentage that is applied to my Invoices?

You can see VAT being applied to an invoice in the screenshot below;

I have a VAT number. Where can I add it?

To avoid being charged with VAT your type of account must be “Organization”. This will activate the VAT number field and you will be able to fill in your valid VAT number. It will be accepted after validating it in VIES system.

Please note that UK VAT numbers are not supported in VIES system. In case you have a UK VAT number you should open a support ticket so that we can assist in updating it to your profile.

If you are already a registered WPX customer but have since obtained a VAT number and would like to use it, you can open a support ticket and we can add it for you.

You can also add it from the Account Details menu, in the VAT EU field.

If you have recently added your VAT number, monitor the next invoice if it has been issued correctly. If you notice anything wrong, contact the WPX support team via ticket.

If you have any other questions on the topic, don’t hesitate to contact the WPX Support Team via live chat (use the bottom right-hand widget) and they will respond and help within 30 seconds or less.
